Yep! That's it. All my toiletries and cosmetics for the ENTIRE week away to our forest house! I don't travel light as I seem to take everything I need food wise, and the equipment to make the food I need to stay healthy.... our Tribest Juicer is a beast and weighs alot, but we can't live without our green juices so hey! it comes with! But because of our weighty food packing it means I have to cut back and make compromises with things such as cosmetic packing.
I like to know where everything is, and all my make up artist cases are way too big, and also hard clear plastic - so they're not too easy to transport in a holdall- so I prefer to use a simple and effective Zip Lock bag. ( Also if anything did sadly leak, it'd be contained, away from your clothes and electral items etc.
One of my favourite brands is Tarte ( all plant derived ingredients ) which I've talked about before on my YouTube channel. I love that the products last so long too, that the brushes are vegan friendly yet excellent quality. So, for my weekend away I took ; Tarte translucent powder, Tarte Maracuja Oil Concealor that I bought in the USA last year, Tarte Blusher, Real Techniques buffing brush, crease brush, Tarte angled and Tarte powder brush ( ALL Synthetic hair - so vegan friendly) , I'm also using up my MUFE Mascara as my Tarte ones have ran out and I had to buy these for a bride recently ( obviously I'm using eco disposable mascara wands for cleanliness ) MUFE say they are cruelty free, but I won't be buying again as i ONLY want eco/ organic/ plant based make up from now on , but I have so much make up to use up, and I don't want to just throw it away, it's costly and wasteful.
The other thing is the Dr Bronners soap which is Pure Castile, and Peppermint scented making for a beautiful smell while in the shower or tub! oh , and cotton face pads for removing make up....
But since I didn't pack make up remover / face moisturiser - I used Pura Organic Rapeseed oil for both, and it worked really well actually! A good tip! A small amount on finger tips - rub all over your face and then wash off with oil, then repeat with the oil on cotton pads and remove eye make up.
I also tried these while I was away, I'm a HUGE Pukka fan, the Green Tea Gentle Cleanser was quite an unusual product, in the sense that it smelt and looked like something you'd expect as a face masque, or as a health food. It is brilliant though, and I really love the way my skin felt after wards. I used it straight on my make up to remove it, and also the day after on my skin after I'd removed my evening-out make up with oil. Great all round skin cleanser.
The Nourishing Face Oil by Pukka Herbs was my favourite though, smells great, feels great and really really good for your skin! I'm already a massive fan, and I'd love to report back on the long term effects of using this, since I have never really found a skin oil in the UK that competes with the Tarte Oil I bought in the USA, however- I think I prefer the Pukka Herbs Nourishing oil based on smell and also the way it felt on my skin.
I'll try and report back and let you know how I get on if I manage to get some more Pukka herb products as the range is huge, also be sure to check out their vitamin and tea sections!

Wow I didn't realise Pukka herbs did face stuff - exciting as I love their teas ! Going to check it out ASAP!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think Burt's Bees is vegan friendly? I'm sure I checked their website a while back and it said it wasn't?
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteI believe in using honey , I've talked about it before , are you a honey user? Some vegans use honey, others do not .
Thanks for reading !
Hey Girl! Good to see you on the beauty side of things again, i've not tried Tarte, is it good??? x
