Essington Fruit Farm

I think it's so important to show your children where their food comes from, to appreciate that it's grown in soil, looked after and then hand picked. I've always loved going fruit picking , whether its from my garden , my great grandmothers old garden - amazing garden , or farms . 

My first job was at a Strawberry Farm, but they don't do it anymore sadly , they've sold out, luckily Essington is brilliant ! They've got so many different types of fruits and veg to pick , so your not just "stuck" with strawberries if your looking for other things to get your teeth into ! 

It's fairly priced, and they have tea rooms and a huge farm shop, selling the best salad dressings . 

The fruit picking : 

Everything you pick is straight from the field , not in poly tunnels. We picked Strawberries and beetroots as they were in season and we LOVE them !!!

We collected around 6-8 beetroots, which Opeie loved pulling out if the ground, and the only cost £2:40 - bargain ! I juice them all the time , and when I get a vitamix I will blend the whole thing up with a whole orange ! Tasty :)

The punnet of strawberries took us around 30 minutes to harvest as Opeie being the inquisitive soul he is aged 2 . They weighed them in a hut out in the field , and they cost £2.67 - not bad at all for 30 mins fun & a snack !

I feel it's  fairly priced, they also  have tea rooms and a huge farm shop, selling the best salad dressings, wines, beers and lots of non vegan free range items.

I have to say they were delicious too the boys had them this morning with whole grain raw cacao cookies & Sunwarrior banana milkshake made with almond milk . 

Then my blender broke ! :( 2nd one broken in as many months ! Any suggestions for a reliable powerful blender ?
